Applying to CSU Bakersfield differs slightly for undergraduate and graduate programs. Pay particular attention to document requirements. Note that some graduate programs may require additional steps beyond what is listed here. If you have any questions about the process or required documents, please contact us.

Undergraduate
Application

To apply for a bachelor's degree program at CSUB, complete the following steps:

  1. Gather and/or complete required documents:
    • Affidavit of Financial Support (an agreement between you and your sponsor confirming that you do have the funds to attend CSUB). 

    • Insurance Form

    • An original bank statement or bank letter showing at least $34,000 USD for your first academic year at CSUB

    • A clear copy of your passport (the picture page showing your full name and date of birth)

    • Official transcripts showing all high school work and graduation date

    • Submit official language test scores if you are a non-native English speaker (CSUB institutional code: 4110)
       

  2. Complete CSUB admission application

  3. Submit required documents via mail to CSUB

Graduate
Application

To apply for a bachelor's degree program at CSUB, complete the following steps:

  1. Gather and/or complete required documents:
    • Affidavit of Financial Support (an agreement between you and your sponsor confirming that you do have the funds to attend CSUB).

    • Insurance Form

    • An original bank statement or bank letter showing at least $30,578 USD for your first academic year at CSUB. MBA applicants need to show at least $33,578 USD.

    • A clear copy of your passport (the picture page showing your full name and date of birth)

    • Letters of recommendation from former professors (vary by program)

    • Current professional resume

    • Submit official GRE or GMAT scores to the university. The test required varies by program. Please see the CSUB Graduate Center for more information.

    • Submit official language test scores if you are a non-native English speaker (CSUB institutional code: 4110)

    • Official transcripts from all college / university work (four-year bachelor's degree required). Transcripts from a college or university outside the U.S. will require a course-by-course analysis. We recommend World Education Services for this analysis (www.wes.org). Student is responsible for sourcing and paying for this outside analysis. 
       

  2. Complete CSUB admission application

  3. Submit required documents via mail to CSUB
